It’s been years since Mark Zuckerberg came up with the brilliant idea of Facebook. It was not the first social platform out there but it definitely is one that buried a couple of its predecessors and evolved into the largest that we know and use today.
Facebook had over 1.65 billion users in the first quarter of 2016 and is rightfully called the king of social media. This is definitely not a number to be sneezed at and I think that all businesses, both small and large, have to establish their presence there and leverage Facebook to their advantage – the potential is just too huge for you to be ignoring it!
Except being the largest social network out there, there are some other benefits to advertising on Facebook, which I’ll gladly share with you here.
1. The amount of time people spend on Facebook
But really, people spend ridiculous amounts of time on social media sites and Facebook reigns supreme there. I’m starting from myself here. If I would ditch Facebook totally and invest that time into something worthwhile, I’m guessing that I could earn another reasonable paycheck.
In just one measly minute, people like over 4 million posts on Facebook! There are over 40 million business pages but sadly just little over 2 million active advertisers who keep at it consistently.
There is definitely an opportunity there for savvy businessmen to exploit. Make sure you’re one of them.
2. You shouldn’t count on organic reach
Sadly, Facebook has done a lot of tinkering with how they show stuff to people who like your page. Of course, this was done to improve user experience but essentially means that a whole bunch of your status updates go completely unnoticed.
Facebook Ads bypass this and serve your ads to your target audience. Not only will you be reaching new users but you will be re-engaging those who you might have thought lost because so much time has passed since they’ve visited your page and interacted with you.
3. Ads do get shared
If you have a good ad there is a chance it’s going to get picked up by an influencer. One good share is all you actually need and it has the potential of being a game-changer.
4. Excellent targeting
Facebook has way better targeting than Google. There is no question about it. This is because we give Facebook so much in terms of information – things that Google is rarely privy to.
These are just some of the unorthodox ways you can target your ads:
– Targeting based on interests and likes
– Life-event targeting
– Recent behavior targeting
– Connection targeting
5. Call buttons add simplicity to the whole thing
The fact that you can now call a business directly from their Facebook ad (for local awareness ads) makes the whole thing beautifully simple, especially since over half of Facebook users access it daily over their mobile phones.
The arduous process of capturing a lead, warming it up, and converting it into a sale just got a lot easier. The only thing you need is proper targeting and an irresistible ad and you’re set!
6. Facebook ads are simple and easily managed
They are only complicated because you never gave them a time of day and took a bit of time to figure them out. Remember, Google ads were just as complicated for everyone at the beginning!
Tools such as Facebook Ads iOS App, Grid Tool, and Social Ads Tool make it easy to manage and create your Facebook ads and even test them to see which one will work the best.
Of course, all of this is probably much easier said than done – at least, this is what you and majority of people are thinking. In truth, becoming a pretty good Facebook advertiser is relatively easy but it is going to take a bit of time.
If you want a shortcut to success then I’d definitely recommend checking out FB Advertising Mastery – an online training course from Michelle and Bill Pescosolido.
They are Facebook advertisers with years of experience and they’ve literally written a book on Facebook advertising. Their course details all the pitfalls and mistakes marketers face when dealing with this social network and how to avoid them and save yourself from wasting valuable time. I found the course to be riveting and insightful – and definitely worth the affordable price tag it comes with!
