It's no shock that Le Baron took the Readers' Choice award at our Time Out Love Shanghai Awards 2016 - the crowds surrounding its Donghu Lu entrance every weekend vying for a way in show just how popular this place is. Entry is free, but if you don't have a table reservation (a four-figure luxury) it's very difficult to get in on the weekends. Head down before midnight and dress sharp for the best chance of getting past the prickly door staff.
