Shanghai's only real mid-sized gig venue, MAO Livehouse plays host to a range of local and international bands.
Although it lacks the underground community feel of Yuyintang, MAO Livehouse has one of the best sound systems and video set ups for live music in the city. Drinks are reasonable although have to purchased via an annoying exchange of ticket tokens, while gig prices vary depending on the appeal of the act.
