This two-storey Korean bathhouse (88RMB/baths only) is possibly the most blissfully chilled-out spot in town. Though it doesn’t have as many activities as some bathhouses, it has a real community feel, great service, and an airy upstairs chillout area complete with heated hobbit rooms, ‘human kilns’ and straw mats to recline on.
The bath area is clean and pleasant but nothing spectacular, with a large main bath with flat screen TV and power jets. There’s a cold plunge pool, a cooling rainforest shower, sauna and steam room. Staff are un-intrusive. The female bathing area features three large pools (one cold), a steam room and a sauna.
On the ground floor is a decent restaurant serving quality Korean fare (30-40RMB), a gym and an open-air pool in the summer. But upstairs is where the magic happens: people recline on straw mats with cards, crisps and cold draught beer (Tsingtaos 15RMB); lounge in little hobbit homes heated to 50C, 54C, 60C and 76C or cooled to 0C; lie in sound-proofed brick ‘kilns’; or wander off to recline in the relaxation rooms and have foot massages. There are no tacky cover singers and no washed-out, lardy businessmen – just glorious communal relaxation. On the floor above, meanwhile, there are further treatments available; including cupping or 'scraping' (58RMB), physiotherapy (80RMB for 30 minutes, 250RMB for an hour) and tui na massage (60/68RMB).
