During the extended Spring Festival holiday, the Shanghai Education Commission announced that all local schools would remain closed until
Monday 17. Now, the closures have been extended. As of yesterday (Wednesday 5), the committee has extended the date that schools will remain closed through the end of February as an effort to continue to keep children and young adults safe during the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Though schools will remain closed, they are expected to remain in contact with students, providing study materials, online lessons and even counselling as needed. Schools will also be making plans for re-opening amidst such major changes to the post-holiday teaching schedule.
