Ultra-modern WOOBAR has the vibes and tracks of a hip nightclub with the drinks of a top-notch cocktail bar. This dark, swanky lounge is filled out with all kinds of surfaces for chilling – white mattresses, modish grey leather lounge chairs, cushioned steps and posh sofas – plus 'private' rooms with four glass walls and their own sound systems. Weekends see live DJs spinning house tracks, but drinker beware: Friday and Saturday have a 500RMB minimum per person if you want to sit anywhere besides the bar.

On that note, pulling up a barstool is a great option because it lets you watch WOOBAR’s Chief Mixologist Dylan Lam concoct avant-garde elixirs inside a rad range of drinking vessels. Served in a smoke-filled hexagonal glass box, Lam’s Sesame Oil Washed Negroni delivers an ashy white sesame slap to the tongue that’ll have you hedonistically returning for more. While the sour and spicy mix of roasted garlic-infused vodka, lime syrup, kaffir lime and chilli tincture of the 'Tom Yum... it is not!' is like a boozy Thai-style leche de tigre.
